"Young Happenings"

I am in Tulsa, Oklahoma with Blake and the twins for Blake's World Series! We got home from our California trip and had a day to regroup and then left again. Blake got 3rd place in the home run Derby! He is a great hitter! He was so close to winning. In the first round he had the furthest hit out of everyone : )

We had such a super trip. What a blessing it was to see my parents and grandparents two times this year. We had a great time staying in New Port with our great friends. They vacation there a lot, so they showed us a lot of their favorite things to do. We stayed at the Marriott Villas in New Port. The boys loved playing ping pong, life sized checkers and chess, basketball, golfing, and swimming at the resort . We went to the beach three times. Everyone enjoyed boogie boarding. The waves were great. I think Ben loved it the most. He came out of the water for about 10 minutes each day we were there. He said,"I never knew I loved the beach so much!" He even looks like a surfer dude with his blond curly hair and tan. We had fun walking around and shopping at Balboa Beach. We loved getting a Balboa bar (ice cream or frozen banana dipped in chocolate with toppings of your choice). It would be fun to rent a vacation house on that island. We were so glad we could see Gayla and her family and even be there for baby Jared's blessing on Sunday! What are the chances of that? It is always good having the boys become reacquainted with their cousins they don't see that often. We were sad it didn't work out to see anyone else on our way home. We didn't give anyone much time to make arrangements to see us. We have become more spontaneous through the years. We hope to see Deryn's mom and others still this year.
